Theresa A. Thomas Memorial Nursing Scholarship

Theresa Thomas and her husband were natives of Duquesne, Pa. In the 1930s they moved to Richmond, Va., and later to Hanover County, north of Richmond. They lived there for the remainder of their lives. In 1972, Mrs. Thomas suffered a sudden, acute illness. Unfortunately, immediate medical help was not available and she died. Soon after, her husband established the Theresa A. Thomas Memorial Foundation. Since its creation, the Thomas Foundation has benefited many health care organizations throughout Virginia. The Theresa A. Thomas Memorial Nursing Scholarship provides support for undergraduate scholarships in the School of Nursing.
