Harry Bramhall Gilbert Merit Scholarship Fund

The Harry Bramhall Gilbert Charitable Trust created the Harry Bramhall Gilbert Merit Scholarship Fund in 2007. The scholarship provides merit-based support to students who meet the following criteria: a resident of the Commonwealth of Virginia who qualifies for in-state tuition; a graduate of a public high school within the Chesapeake, Va., Public School System; working toward his/her first post-secondary school degree; enrolled in an approved course of study in any undergraduate school at U.Va., or participate in the Echols Scholars Program or Honors Program; earned at least 90 semester hours of credit, either through coursework or Advanced Placement credit; have at least a cumulative 3.0 grade point average; must carry a minimum of 12 credit hours of coursework per semester (i.e., must be enrolled full-time) during his/her fourth year of study and must remain in good academic standing during
his/her fourth year of study.
