Chick-fil-A Bowl Endowed Scholarship
The endowment distribution provides partial or full scholarship support to a student at the University in recognition of the University’s participation in the 2011 Chick-fil-A Bowl in Atlanta, GA. Scholarships are awarded in accordance with accepted policies of the University’s Office of Student Financial Services, using the following guidelines: (1) The recipient is chosen on the basis of academic merit with a preference for a student who demonstrates leadership potential. (2) First preference is given to a student who is, at the time of receipt of the scholarship funds, an undergraduate student from the Atlanta public high school system (The High Schools at Carver, Douglass, Mays, North Atlanta, South Atlanta, Jackson, Therrell and Washington) and who has participated in the National Football Foundation’s “Play It Smart” program. (3) One annual award will be given to a qualifying student, and the student will continue to receive the award for subsequent academic periods throughout his/her undergraduate academic career (up to five years) for as long as he/she continues to qualify. (4) If no Atlanta “Play It Smart” student is identified in a given semester or academic year, then the award can be made available to students from high schools in the metro Atlanta area. (5) If no Atlanta “Play It Smart” student is identified using the above mentioned criteria, then the award can be made to a student from Georgia.
