Walter L. Brown Professorship
The Walter L. Brown Professorship in Law was created by the Henry L. and Grace Doherty Charitable Foundation in honor of its longtime trustee. Walter Brown (College '24, Law '26), a Rhodes Scholar, was vice president and general counsel for Western Electric Company in New York. He was the first president of the Law School Foundation and earlier counsel to the Law School Foundation Trust when it was created in 1952. Mr. Brown, who died in 1975, was a member of the Alumni Board of Trustees of the University of Virginia Endowment Fund.
