T. Munford Boyd Professorship
The T. Munford Boyd Professorship in Law was funded by the International Telephone & Telegraph Company, then parent of the Charlottesville-based Michie Company. An expert on civil procedure, Munford Boyd (Law '23) joined the faculty in 1947 after more than a decade in private practice and an appointment to the bench of Charlottesville's Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court. Blind since childhood, he contributed numerous articles to the Michie Company, a law publisher. He retired in 1970 and died in 1985. David W. Parrish, Jr. (Law '51), retired president of the Michie Company, was instrumental in creating this chair.
