Perre Bowen Professorship
The Perre Bowen Professorship in Law was funded with a bequest from Mr. Bowen. Perre Bowen (Law '28) was appointed an attorney in the German-Austrian Claims Division of the Judge Advocate General's Office of the War Department. He later served as assistant to the president of the Baltimore Commercial Bank and was engaged in the liquidation of insolvent borrower banks. In 1931, he joined a general civil law practice in Washington, D.C. Except for an assignment as a U.S. Army intelligence officer from 1943 to 1946, he remained with the practice until his retirement. Mr. Bowen died in 1989.
