Joseph Weintraub - Bank of America Distinguished Professorship in Law
The Joseph Weintraub'Bank of America Distinguished Professorship in Law was funded by the Joseph Weintraub Family Foundation, Inc., and the Bank of America Corporation. It honors Joseph Weintraub, who attended the College and Law School at the University of Virginia in the early 1920s. After moving to Miami in 1926, Mr. Weintraub established a law practice and founded the American Title Insurance Company; Pan American Bank, Inc.; and Intercontinental Bank. The banks were ultimately merged into NationsBank Corporation, now Bank of America Corporation. Mr. Weintraub died in 1987. Michael Weintraub (College '60, Law '63) serves as director of the foundation, formed in 1949 by his father.
