John Allan Love Professorship in Law
The John Allan Love Professorship in Law was funded by the John Allan Love Charitable Foundation with matching gifts from the Alumni Board of Trustees of the University of Virginia Endowment Fund. Mr. Love, who studied at the Law School from 1905 until 1907, founded Prudential Savings and Loan, the Income Investment Company, and the mortgage banking and brokerage firm known as Love, Reinholt & Gardner. He died in 1974. The late Charles Venable Minor, a friend of Mr. Love, was a founding trustee of the foundation. Retired University Vice President for Development John J. Owen (Engineering '39) is also a foundation trustee.
