E. James Kelly, Jr. Class of 1965 Research Professorship in Law
The E. James Kelly, Jr.-Class of 1965 Research Professorship in Law was the twenty-fifth reunion gift of the law Class of 1965. It honors class president James Kelly, who died in 1965, just two months before graduation. As an undergraduate at the University of North Carolina, Mr. Kelly played on the national championship basketball team that defeated Kansas. Instrumental in the chair's funding were Class of 1965 members Richard S. Glasser (College '62); John David Hopkins; Thomas T. Lawson; Bernard J. Long, Jr.; James M. Shoemaker, Jr. (College '54); Alexander W. Sierck (College '62); and John L. Warden.
