William Jones Memorial Fund

Robert W. and Alyce G. Crouter created the William Jones Memorial Fund in 2001; the fund honors William Jones, a University student whose tragic death enabled Mr. Crouter to receive the heart donation that saved his life. Mr. Crouter was one of the first heart transplant recipients at the University of Virginia Medical Center. This fund is used by the Department of Surgery's Division of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery to support an annual forum for patients, health care providers and/or the community on heart failure, heart transplantation and organ donation.
