Pamela B. and Peter C. Kelly Award for Improving Health in Limpopo Province
Pamela B. and Peter C. Kelly Award provides an annual award to a student-pair, consisting of a U.Va. student and a student from the University of Venda, Limpopo Province, South Africa, working on the Center for Global Health's (CGH) Water and Health in Limpopo Province project. The student-pair will ensure the continued evaluation and improvement of water projects and other needed projects in the Limpopo Province.
Award recipients are selected by a panel of three faculty members affiliated with the CGH. At least one faculty member will be from the College of Arts and Sciences and one faculty member will be from the University of Venda (Univen). For the duration of the Water and Health in Limpopo Province project, the aforementioned faculty members will be actively involved in the project.
Future project selection committees will be of a similar composition in that they will be comprised of three CGH-affiliated faculty members, at least one of whom is from the College of Arts and Sciences. When feasible, one member of the committee will be a subject matter and/or geographical expert on the area in which the project is located.
