William Dew International Studio Fund
This fund was created in memory of William B. Dew Jr. (Arch '30) by his nephews, Nathaniel and William Woodson, in recognition of his allegiance to the principles of the Virginia Society of Architects and lifelong interest in the continued education provided by travel. The William Dew International Studio Fund allows for graduate students to travel as part of their studio assignments in architecture and landscape architecture. Within the studio context, design students travel to a specific site; meet with local practitioners and professors; draw and photograph the locale; and return to Charlottesville to complete the assigned project. Projects should provide an interdisciplinary focus, in keeping with Jefferson's sensitivity to a building's relationship to the land and his respect for historical context.
