John Elliott Woltz Symposium Fund

The Woltz family and the Woltz Charitable Trust created the Woltz Symposium Fund in 1997 to support a schoolwide conference in honor of John E. Woltz (Col '47), longtime friend of the School of Architecture and parent to faculty member Thomas Lenoir Woltz (Arch '96, '97). As a student at U.Va., John Woltz was president of the College of Arts & Sciences and chairman of the Honor Committee. Following graduation Mr. Woltz worked at Quality Mills, where he later became chairman, president and CEO. The symposium is held every three years to address interdisciplinary topics related to the city and to foster new visions that explore the interdependence of architecture and landscape architecture.
