Leonard W. Sandridge Outstanding Contributor Award
It was the character of Leonard Sandridge that inspired Douglas W. DuPont to endow the University of Virginia's highest staff award in Sandridge's honor, allowing U.Va. to give the award in perpetuity. The Leonard W. Sandridge Outstanding Contribution Award honors Sandridge, the University's executive vice president and chief operating officer, who retired December 31, 2010, after more than forty years with the University. The award includes an engraved gift and a check for $1,000. The honor is open to staff members throughout the University's academic division, the Medical Center, and the College at Wise.
