Olsson Endowment for Center of Applied Ethics

The Olsson Center for Applied Ethics was founded in 1966 with gifts from the Olsson family, the Peter B. and Adeline W. Ruffin Foundation and the Class of 1966. The center's vision is to be a leading source of thinking about the role of ethics in business and to enhance the intellectual life of the University of Virginia by contributing to a University-wide conversation about the role of ethics in society. The Olsson Center established Darden's leading position in business ethics before it was the trend for business schools, setting the stage for the development of the Business Roundtable Institute for Corporate Ethics, also housed at Darden.
